making of space"

It all starts with an idea

Your future project is as individual as you are. We could show you photos of the endless projects we've worked on, but it would be meaningless.

Our approach puts you and your vision, your needs, at the centre, we then infuse that idea in to a building

STAGE 5

FEASIBILITY

We will discuss your ideas and establish a brief according to what you want and what your budget is. We then carry out a measured survey and produce CAD plans of the existing building in readiness for Stage 2

CONCEPT DESIGN

We take the CAD plans and produce concept designs to suit your brief. We will get your feedback and amend as required. We may include discussing concept designs with the local Planning Authority at this stage before the design is signed off and Stage 3 commences

DEVELOPED DESIGN

The signed off concept plan is then developed in to Planning drawings and submitted with required supporting documentation. We include full colour and 3D details in our package, where appropriate, to enhance the appeal of your proposal at this key stage

TECHNICAL DESIGN

The project then goes in to the Technical Design phase to ensure compliance with Building Control and the Building Regulations. We handle any queries & coordinate with outside specialists, as required, to gain approval and complete the design phase

CONSTRUCTION

Once statutory approvals are met we can issue drawings to you to allow you to tender for the works. If you wish we can oversee some of this process and help you to appoint a competent building contractor to carry out the works

The Party Wall Process

As you move through the architectural process outlined above, it is possible that you may need to consider whether you need to serve notice on your neighbour(s) under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996. Serving early can help avoid delays when you are ready to commence work.

At Charterhouse Surveying, we offer expert advice on party wall matters, including acting as Party Wall Surveyors. Please click the link below for more information.
